Its founder, Julian Assange, in answer to questions about the operation of his organization, reportedly told a reporter, "I'm too busy ending two wars."

I read this kind of quote recently and it hit me today. To think that one can make a difference is so detached its delusional.

Assange (like bin Laden) overestimates American intelligence and empathy. Perhaps he, like bin Laden, think that in a "democracy" (tm) we can actually do something about USG foreign policy. bin Laden exhorts Americans as if they could listen and reason about what he says. So does Assange in a way.

Holy crap. Neither Assange nor bin Laden realize that 1. democracy does not mean we can control the mil-industrial complex 2. half of Americans are below average intelligence 3. Many of those in the first sigma on the higher side of the mean are just as tribethink as the rest.

Both JA and UBL overestimate the US. In ways that just salt the wounds.
If our Chinese owners could send us back, they would.

Assange is a hero, but he makes the mistake UBL does: he assumes he's dealing with reasonable adults when dealing with the US.
