Volunteer Pam Rogan, of Irvine, photographs a name for a mother who called her from out of state to see if her son's name was included on the memorial. The son had committed suicide. The name was included and the mother decided to fly down for the dedication.

Tomorrow the US's FIRST and ONLY memorial to chronic wars will be dedicated in Irvine, CA. With space for 8000 dead soldiers names from the Iraq / Afghan occupations, more than half filled at dedication, it will be UPDATED yearly with new names of the dead. No need for long wars to be lost before carving granite, like those Nam-era folks.
